No. The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Section 25C) ended for windows installed after December 31, 2025. Congress ended it early in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed in July 2025. Windows installed in 2026 don’t qualify for a federal tax credit.

What the credit used to cover
From 2023 through 2025, the 25C credit covered 30% of the cost of qualifying energy-efficient windows, up to $600 per year, as part of a larger $1,200 annual cap for things like insulation and doors.
If you installed windows in 2025
You can still claim the credit for qualifying windows placed in service by December 31, 2025, on your 2025 federal return using IRS Form 5695. Talk to your tax professional about your situation.
What’s left in 2026
Some utilities and local programs offer weatherization or efficiency help, but most don’t cover window replacement directly. The better way to make new windows affordable now is to price them right and spread the cost out.
